Tuesday 3 May 2016

Fresh from the fantastic victory in the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider Sam Lowes flew to Jakarta, in Indonesia, where he attended the “Federal Oil Special Experience”, an event organized by the title sponsor of the team, and a special “meet & greet” inside the headquarters of the Astra Otoparts group, owner of the Aspira brand.

Lowes, at his first ever visit to Indonesia, was immediately struck by the Indonesian fans’ support and local media’s ever increasing passion for motorsport: on Sunday, May 1st the 25-year-old British rider visited the headquarters of Federal Lubricants in Jakarta, then he rode a Honda CBR600 with a special Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 livery through the streets of the Indonesian capital, leading a convoy of 15 journalists and bloggers from all over Indonesia.

The parade, kicked off by Federal Lubricants CEO Patrick Adhiatmadja, made a first stop at the Super Federal Oil Center Eka Motor, awarded as the best Federal Oil center in Jakarta, and continued to the place where media and fans were able to meet Sam more closely through a special Q&A and photo session.

The following day, Monday, May 2nd, Lowes visited the headquarters of Astra Otoparts, owner of the Aspira brand and sponsor of the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2, where he met with President Mr. Hamdhani DS, Director Mr. Yusak Kristian and all the board of directors of Indonesia’s leading company in the automotive components field, together with some local journalists invited for the occasion.

Both events were highly enjoyable and rewarding for both Lowes and for the large number of fans and journalists and represented an excellent opportunity for the promotion of the Federal Oil and Aspira brands in Indonesia, which has a significant, ever growing motorcycle market.

Sam Said

“I spent two fantastic days in Jakarta! Two very busy days actually, but at the same time very enjoyable and rewarding. Riding a bike through the Jakarta traffic was a completely new experience for me: strange for sure, but very funny! Also, it was interesting to visit the Federal Oil offices and factory. Honestly I didn’t expect to receive such a warm welcome: you can feel a great enthusiasm for racing and all the people here follow very closely the races of the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2. Their support is undoubtedly a further incentive to do our best and gives us a great motivation for the rest of the season. I spent a really nice time in Jakarta and I would like to thank Federal Oil, Aspira and all our Indonesian partners for this opportunity and for their valuable support”.
