Sam signs for GNS racing, can't wait to go testing!
Monday 15 February, 2010

Hey up All,

Roll On 2010

A lot has happened since becoming the British Supersport Cup Champion at the end of 2009, and I must say its all been 100% positive. I believe 2010 will be my year, and the best to date!

I am riding for GNS racing and I am very proud and privileged to be given the opportunity as I know I will have the bike and the people behind me to win the British Supersport Championship in 2010.

In the off season I have been training real hard with Alex, and my fitness now is at the highest level it has ever been. Also, I have had a couple of fitness tests and training sessions down south with the team which were awesome and showed me that they are putting everything they possibly can into 2010 being a success. I have also been doing a lot of pit biking most weekends with Alex just to keep riding and keep me on my toes.

Recently I have been to Portsmouth for my first event representing GNS racing and Honda for an open weekend which included the launch of the new VFR. We had the race truck down there and it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and was perfectly timed as next weekend (21st Feb) I start with a shakedown test at Brands Hatch before everything is loaded in the truck and sent out to Spain to start our testing proper.

The team are a mega bunch of guys some who I have worked with before, we don’t have one weak link so everything is very positive right now. My new team mate Paul Jordan is coming up from 125’s and we have spent a bit of time together over the winter as I believe its always better to get on with your team mate than not to, luckily Paul is sound and easy to get on with and I'm sure we can work very well together.

I cant wait to get riding now so I can start telling you all about it and about whats going on. One thing for sure though Sam Lowes will be on it in 2010! 2nd isn’t good enough in my eyes anymore, I know I need to find more in myself for this season but with the team and bike I have and the people behind me I am very confident and just want to get some good weather and some good testing in so I can really hit the ground running at Brands Hatch which is a track I like.

I would like to say a massive thankyou to GNS racing and all their sponsors as well as all my sponsors even though I am looking for more. I will be using Halo leathers this season hoping to push the ever growing brand forward within the sport and I have renewed my contracts with Shark helmets and TCX boots which I am very happy about and I'm hoping to build on our success from 2009.

I will speak again for soon with a lot more interesting stuff to tell you about but until then...

Stay on it, and watch this space for 2010

Supersport Cup Champ reveals he's going BIG in 2010!!
Wednesday 11 November, 2009

Hey up All,

Just checking in at the end of the season to let you all know how it finished up and how I got on. It has been a mad end to the season combining the World Championship and the British Championship, but I have loved every minute and am happy with the way I rode but not completely with the results in the World Championship.

We managed to end up winning the British Supersport Cup series even though I missed the Silverstone round completely, and unfairly got punished at Croft with a disqualification which was only down to some paperwork being wrong… but oh well at least we managed to do it and this made it feel a lot better knowing I had to overcome a few hurdles along the way. As you know before the Cadwell round of the British Supersport series I joined Team Co-Ordit racing to finish off the season after a fall out with Astro racing because of my desire to go racing in the World Championship. This turned out to be a very good move and straight away I really enjoyed the work of the team and felt at home. This continued for the remainder of the season and I was able to win all the Supersport Cup races which I did with Team Co-Ordit. I would like to thank Pete a lot for taking me in half way through the season and finding the resources to help me out, thankyou!

The World Championship rounds With CRS were amazing and I enjoyed riding with the World Championship regulars, it opened my eyes to where I need to be, but I must say that given my age and experience right now and how I was able to perform, in a few seasons time with a bit more learning time and me finding more within myself I can see no reason why Sam Lowes cannot be successful on the World stage. The riders are on a completely different level out there but that gives me something to really aim at as now I know how good they are and where I need to be, but as for my plans for 2010 I think a bigger and better attempt at winning the main British Supersport Championship is the way forward, don’t you?

If it hadn’t been for two mechanical failures in Magny Cours and Portimao then I would have definitely got points in the World Championship and maybe things would be looking a lot different for 2010 but with where I am at now, I can see no harm in getting the correct package sorted to do the job properly in Britain first.

I would like to thank Sandro the Team Manager and also my two mechanics Matteo and Luca it was a mega experience to compete in 5 World Championship races on some of the best tracks in the world and if not next year I will definitely be back there in the future.

This time of year is the worst for me because the racing is finished and I am busy sorting out 2010, I get bored after the first weekend off and all I want to do is get back out on a bike and go racing. I will mainly be helping my dad out this winter and also chilling out and having the usual amounts of fun with the boys and a certain special someone. We have all decided that this winter we are going to keep on it by pit biking, Coops, Fish, Baz, Dave and Alex... We will be on it! I am really going to hit the gym hard and not slow down over winter so that I can hit the ground running in 2010. I haven’t done so much these past two weeks so hopefully I will be sorted early next week with my ride for next season then nothing will stop me training hard and loving life. The way things are right now I am happy and feel good with everything that is going on. If I keep this going into the start of next year and have a good amount of testing I know I can find what is needed within myself to show everyone what I can really do in 2010 in the British Supersport Championship.

Right now everything is good and I am confident that we can sort all the details out to have a very competitive package underneath me and around me in 2010.

This season has been good for me, I have showed that I can be consistent and use my head which has let me down in previous seasons, and know with the right package I can show that again along with the pace needed to run at the front. 2009 has been a massive learning year for Sam Lowes and what I have learnt has been invaluable to not only me as a racer but to me as a person. Life is too short not to be or achieve what you want, I am going to put absolutely everything into every single minute of whats to come to achieve my goal.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has helped me during this season and promise to move onto bigger and better things in 2010.

Thanks & Stay on it!

Impressive Sam gets World Supersport ride!
Thursday 30 July, 2009

Hey up All,

I haven’t checked in for a while and there a lot of reasons for that, a lot has been happening recently with the British Championship still going strong and starting to get a lot better for me, with a 9th place last time out at Mallory which should have been so much more. All through qualifying I was consistently in the top 5 in the dry conditions but the race was held in intermediate conditions. I opted to use a wet front, inter rear which was a bad decision as the tyres to be one were inters front and rear, but we didn’t have this. I Pushed hard at the start staying in 3rd place in lap 12 and then holding 4th place til lap 22. but on the last 3 laps I dropped all the way back to 9th as the track had got progressively drier and the front just fell apart. But I was happy because I showed if I had the same tyres I would have been on the podium. I now lead the Cup Championship and know I have the pace to start pushing for the main podium from now until the end of the season.

But the main news I want to tell you about is that I have managed to impress enough to secure a ride for the rest of the season in World Supersport for Italian Honda team ECHO CRS Grand Prix. This is a mega opportunity for me…. We had a two day test in Imola before Mallory and the team and bike are just amazing. I am really putting everything into this and want to impress in the last 4 races so that I can carry on chasing my dream of racing and winning in the World Championship, and get a full season chance in World Supersport to show what I can dooo.

I am loving my life so much right now doing all this riding and have 3 clear goals for the rest of 2009. One to win the British Supersport Cup and get a main Championship podium. Two is to achieve a top ten result in World Supersport in the last 4 races and try to secure a deal for 2010 with a team in that Championship. Three just to have so much fun as always and live life to the full.

I have got an amazing end to 2009 to look forward to and am very grateful to everyone giving me the opportunities I have got but its through a lot of hard work and has showed me that if you put the effort in and dedicate everything to being the best then you get something back.

I love riding and racing motorbikes and it means everything to me, so I will be giving it my all to put on a good show for the rest of 2009 to try and secure a big year in 2010 for Sam Lowes.

Stay on it!

Sam Wins Supersport Cup at Brands... Promises More!
Wednesday 15 April, 2009

Hey up All,

Hope you're all ok and been on it and stayed safe since my last blog!! I have been up to lots since I last wrote and the main thing is that I have had my first round of the season. It was at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit and didn’t go too badly.

For me, this was time to put all the hard work and training over winter into practice and start my job proper, and I can say that even though the result wasn’t exactly what I wanted I loved every second of the weekend and had a big smile on my face every lap I rode. It was the first real test for me and the team on how we can work together and compete against the rest. We did very well and if I hadn’t mucked up the start we could have had a solid sixth position which would have been mega, but instead I had to battle back from 19th on lap one to finish in tenth position and win the Supersport Cup part of the race. I must say it was mega to get back up on the podium but I am here to win the main race and want to get onto that main podium at Oulton Park in 2 weeks time. I will be doing absolutely everything it takes to achieve that.

But overall I am happy because we now lead the Supersport Cup, and lie tenth in the Main Championship, so we have a very strong base to build on. I am very happy with the package and can also see the potential of the whole team and know that things are only just going to get a lot better. Even the bike has so much more to come.

Away from racing I have just been training real hard and enjoying life as always, Alex and I have found some time to get some golf in, and found time to spend with some lovely ladies!

I hope that you have all been having as much fun as me and that some of you can make it to the next round at Oulton as I promise to make it a thriller. I will be there giving it my all and aiming for that main podium which I, and the team are capable of.

Also I would like to say good luck to my brother Alex who is competing in his second race of the year at Assen, so best of luck dude I will be there with you.

Lastly I would like to say a massive thank you to Astro Racing and my mechanic 'super Daz' for getting me on the pace, and also to PTR for putting a competitive bike underneath me…. There is so much to come from us all and I promise to show this at Oulton in 2 weeks.

Miss it, then miss out!

Stay on it!

Sam Fired Up for Brands Hatch!
Thursday 2 April, 2009

Hey up All,

I have been getting up to quite a lot since the last blog I wrote. Most importantly I have started my testing for the 2009 season and quite honestly it couldn’t have gone better at all. The bike is mega and I have got the set up exactly how I want it, the engine for me is very strong but the team have told me quite definitely that the engine will be a lot stronger for Brands Hatch so that is a very good thing as even with this bike I have been on the pace. My two mechanics Daz and Steve are mega and we all get on real good and are all very confident for the season, they are happy with me and I am happy with them its mega! I haven’t felt as comfortable on any bike as I do with this one, also I haven’t felt at home in any other team as I do with this one, so even before the first race I would like to thank them all very much.

We have done five days in testing, all in England and its gone good, obviously we have had a few problems and issues but that has just emphasised how well we all work together by how we have been able to dial them out. My aims for the season are simple and that is to win races, and really progress with my riding and race craft. The year I had last year taught me so much in many of the aspects of racing and in life, and I have turned up this year with a totally different attitude than ever before. I have trained so hard and am very fit and I want this so so bad. My mind set now is “why not” rather than “what if” and I just go out there and enjoy riding my bike as fast as I can.

2009 is a massive chance for me and there are a lot of reasons for that which I wont go into, but I am definitely not going to waste it, anything other than race wins and podiums just isn’t good enough anymore, and if I am not there you wont hear me making excuses for why I am not, I will just improve and get better because I know deep down I can do it, so I just have to prove it to myself and everyone else. Racing is my life and its what I live for, it comes before anything and everything else. Without sounding cocky, this year will be my year as I will make it mine no matter what. I wont let anything stop me or get in my way.

Away from racing I have been training very hard and spending a lot of time with my brother Alex. He has his first race this weekend in Valencia so good luck to him. I am sure you will be fine mate, I know how good you are. Also I have been down with the team helping on the bikes when I can…well just making the tea but at least I was there!! I’ve also obviously been up to no good trying to understand the ever puzzling species which is the female!! But we are getting there haha.

I will talk again before or during the first round held over the Easter weekend at Brands Hatch. If you have anything you want to ask or just want to catch up then don’t hesitate to contact me through my web site. Hope you’re all ok and having lots of fun… don’t do anything I wouldn’t!

Stay on it!

Sam Eagerly Awaits New Challenge!
Tuesday 24 February, 2009

Hey up All,

For the 2009 season I will be riding in the British Supersport Championship For Astro Racing and really cant wait to get started. Last season didn’t go to plan but things really look good for 2009 and Stuart from Astro has given me the chance to really show what I can do on a competitive bike with an experienced team.

I am more motivated and determined than ever and really want to show everyone what I can do, I have been training harder than ever and I'm really in good shape for this season so hopefully we can get a very good testing program put in place so that I turn up to the first race on it!!!

My brother Alex is riding in the superstock 1000 FIM cup for factory backed MV Agusta! So I am very happy for him that he has got a mega ride and seems to be getting to grips with it brilliantly! We have been training together lots, it will be a big help for us to have each other at the meetings, but as helpers not opponents, which will be nice. I am sure I will get lots of comments during the season on what I am doing wrong!!!

We are hoping to get out in the very near future and get our testing underway so I can see where I am at, but my aims for this year are seriously at the podium and I will be looking to be in the top 6 every weekend. I know the British Supersport Championship is very tough but I know I can put together everything I have learnt over the last two seasons and make this one work and make that jump up to the front. I have put absolutely everything into being ready for this year and just want to get back to doing what I love and that’s riding motorcycles, I hate the winter!!! I have been getting up to lots of stuff with women and bikes etccc… but just want to get back on it!!

I have been doing a bit of trials riding and stuff but its not the same!!! I just what to get back on it and start my work for 2009.

Please keep checking the web site which will be updated regularly with all the latest news, testing times and results as the season goes on, I hope you like it.

I will write again after my first test to let you know how its gone!!

Stay on it!
